Sep, 12, 2009

It has been a while since I have put anything on here. I have been very busy with Bethany and Michael's wedding, which was Sep. 12. It was really beautiful! Thankfully we had the last non- rainy weekend for a while booked. It was warm but otherwise the weather was perfect. The wedding was at the bride's grandmother's house. It started at 4:00 and except for a little tuxedo mess-up was right on time. The reception featured various fruit, vegetables, and meats and cheeses all provided by the bride's aunt and the groom's workplace. There were stargazer lilies everywhere and the reception ended with a lovely starry night. The music was chosen by the bride, groom, and I and in addition to all my other usual duties I DJ'ed as well, which was very new for me. Below are some pictures of the day.

Coming soon I have Dani's wedding at the Cool Springs House on Oct. 10. Will post again after the wedding.

Decisions, Decisions

So far this is what we have determined with Bethany and Michael's wedding. We are using Copley Photography to shoot the wedding. Marty Copley does amazing work and I am very excited to be working with him. We are renting everything from Classic Party Rentals in LaVergne. They are very reasonable and with a tent we are spending only $700! That includes chairs and tables. For the cake we are going to have Wal-Mart make the wedding cake and For Goodness Cake Company of Murfreesboro to make the groom's cake, which is going to be a round chocolate cake with a fondant flat screen TV and Wii remote on it. We still have not decided what we are going to do for flowers, although we are considering somewhere like Publix or Kroger. I need to call Kroger to see what they charge, quality, etc. The wedding is all coming together and I am excited about how it is going to turn out.
In other news, I have booked a wedding for June/July of next year that will probably be at Cheekwood. I think it is a beautiful place to have a wedding. I have plenty of time to plan and it seems like this one will be just as fun as all the others!

More on Bethany and Michael, New Wedding

Bethany and Michael's wedding is coming along. We have mostly decided that we are going with Tomorrow's Memories photography. They are great and I already have a connection with them as they are shooting the wedding in June that I am in. I just need to get and send the deposit. Bethany has decided that she wants to do party trays from Publix(or somewhere like that) for food instead of an expensive caterer. She has also decided what she wants to do for her bouquets. Here are some examples:

:
I really like the stargazer lilies, but we do not know if we are going to get real or fake. I have already contacted Raintree Florist and I have an appointment with Accents with Love in Smyrna on June 6th, this Saturday. We have been looking at more invitations and seals for their wine glass party favors. I also went to Stewart's today to price rentals, as well as looking on the Internet at other stores. I think Stewart's may be the way to go because their tents are cheaper. Grand Events have cheaper tables though and this may save us more in the long run. We still need to figure out a music option for the wedding. I am really excited about how much everything is coming together!

Today I booked a new wedding! It is on October 10 and the bride's name is Dani. I will just be coordinating the ceremony and present the day of, but I still feel special to be part of their day. I will mainly be setting up centerpieces, helping with etiquette, etc. I love being in this business!

September wedding, Bethany and Michael

The next wedding I have right now is in September with Bethany and Michael of Murfreesboro. My summer is going to be pretty busy, so I haven't really scheduled much because I have a lot to work around. If you know of anyone though, tell them to contact me. I do need a few weddings for the summer right now. I have a wedding in June, but I am helping for free since she is one of my good friends and I am in the wedding. Bethany and Michael are in need of everything. They are going to have their ceremony in La Vergne at her grandmother's house. Right now I am looking into caterers, flowers, and photographers. For caterers we have narrowed it down between one of Michael's coworker's wife, Easter, and Goodness Gracious in Murfreesboro. Bethany and Michael want a buffet style grilled chicken dinner with vegetables. For photographers we have narrowed it down to Copley Photography and Tomorrow's Memories. I have contacted Raintree Florists and we are having a consultation this week. Bethany wants mainly tiger lilies in her arrangements. For the cake we may go with For Goodness Cake Company or Jo's Cakes and Catering. We have not got into too many details, but I am excited to get more into all the work. More on the details later!

Scott and Dena 4/25

Scott and Dena were married last Saturday. It was a very simple wedding with traditional vows, a unity candle, and very pretty decorating by The Bridal Path. They had no bridal party or groomsmen and traditional music. Their story is really sweet. They have been having a long distance relationship for a year and Scott found out that he had to go on another tour in Afghanistan. They were engaged shortly after they found out in early April. Then they called me and now have been married for two days. Their reception was intimate with close friends and family at the Boundry. Flowers were provided by Raintree Florist from Brentwood. They were all ivory roses, including mother's corsages and buitonneres. Cake was provided by Jo's Custom Cakes and Catering in Smyrna. It was white chocolcate with buttercream icing. The roses were sugar spun, deep red with black tips. Below are some pictures of the flowers and cake. Hopefully later I will have some pictures of the happy bride and groom.

Gettting closer!

Dena and Scott are getting married in less than two weeks! I now have all the floral arrangements ready. All the flowers are going to be cream roses, which I think will go beautifully with Dena's ivory wedding gown. We have found a great way to involve the family in the ceremony. We are going to have the guests to promise to support Scott and Dena's new marriage. Now all that is left to do is get ready for the ceremony. Below is a picture of what the bouquet will look like, only in cream.

I am also excited because I am doing a new wedding in September at the Sam Davis Home. They are so friendly there and it really is a beautiful place to get married. I am meeting with the bride tomorrow. Will post more when I have more information.

April 25th Wedding...getting ready

I am so excited about Dena and Scott getting married! They called me on Friday, April 3rd, and are getting married on April 25th. Obviously we have a lot to do! We have found the venue photographer, and officiant. They are getting married at a chapel that provides the photographer and officiant, which is a big help. Their reception will be at a local upper class resteraunt. I met with Dena yesterday and ordered the cake today. It is going to be white chocolate with white buttercream icing, deep red sugar roses with black tips, and two tiered. It sounds delicious! I am using Jo's Custom Cakes and Catering of Smyrna for the cake and she always does a wonderful job. Soon I am going to call the florist. Dena and Scott want to involve all the guests in their ceremony and I will post later about what they choose. I can not wait until everything comes together!

April 4th wedding, Walt and Amy

I have decided to start a blog for To The Last Bubble (http://www.tothelastbubble.com/) , my wedding planning business based out of La Vergne, TN and serving the Nashville area. That way people can know what is going on with the business. I am just going to start with my last wedding that I did, which was on April 4th. The wedding was between Walt and Amy from Eagleville. It was outdoors at the Sam Davis Home in Smyrna, TN. They had a tent up for the reception and it went really well. We were very worried about the weather but everything turned out great! Amy's bridesmaids dress colors were silver with a platinum sash. The centerpieces were silk lavendar flowers with beads and votive candles. See picture below:

My favorite part of this wedding was the sand ceremony, in which Walt and Amy poured different colors of sand into one vase with their names and wedding date engraved on it. I liked this new take on the unity candle, and it works well with venues that do not want candles or fire in their facilites.
